Night Beach Parties, Glamour & BBQ's...
Friday, 7 August 2009 // 01:45
..is what we love about summer. The chance to stare at boys with no tops on, wear sexy & stylish bikinis and get golden bronze tans.
But are teen lives really all glitz and glamour 24/7?
Most teens seem to be the envy of others, they are rich, get all the boys, and seem to have anything they want whenever they want. Girls compare themselves to them, feeling fat, ugly and unpopular.

So what if you weren't invited to that POOL PARTY of the year, that if you weren't invited you "missed out" and your soo "uncool."? Ignore those shallows ones who only care about being invited to all the latest, elite, cool parties, don't they have anything better to do with their life?

Every teen has a goal, it could be that they want to be more popular, more confident, richer, smarter etc.
If you ask some of the teens that seem to have it all, before you start slagging them off and calling them spoilt, maybe you should actually think, what if they are doing all this so they can get attention that they never get at home? Maybe inside they wish they weren't as popular as they are or feel unloved?

Maybe their parents were just rich and they didn't want a life like that? Maybe they are just NORMAL like you are?

I am not one who gets jealous, I am happy in my own skin. But envy is a bad thing, comparing yourself to others is not going to make you feel better, it's going to make you feel much more worse. Get to know a person first before you judge them, under all that designer clothing and latest gadgets there could be a down to earth genuine girl who would really like true friends who are not after her money and popularity.

I've been in the situation before. Girls have made my life a misery because they were jealous, but there's no need to be jealous. Be happy with who you are. Have that happiness that is already IN your heart, stop searching for it, because it's already there, you just don't know it yet.

This summer don't spend your time giving girls the dirty look and making enemies because you're envious, enjoy your time and have fun, with your friends and family. Stop wishing you were someone else, there are people in this world who would DIE to at least have a house, food, and love.

If you are feeling depressed or insecure, just remind yourself that at least you are cherished with love, shelter, and food.

So go out there and have fun! No need to be hiding away because you fear that all the "popular" girls are going to be outside, so even if they laugh, who cares, at least you have more integrity than them.

Popular girls are not people who stay in one clique and look down at others, they are people who are friendly with everyone.

Rather than focusing on POPULARITY and beauty, boys, makeup..why don't you focus on your studies? Your being offered an education, take the opportunity and do your best. Then in life you can have anything you want, money, success, a happy life.
Instead of desperately trying to find a job, regretting the choice of being popular and not taking your studies seriously, wishing you worked hard then.

And stop saying "their all so pretty, I wish I was like them and had all the boys after me.." some of them aren't all THAT beautiful, if you saw them without makeup, some of them aren't really beautiful without it. Even if they still are, who cares? Why do you care? EVERYONE is beautiful. Stop comparing yourself, everyone has a talent. And when you say "all the boys fancy them.." well those boys are PLAYERS.

If they saw those girls without their makeup and padded bras they probably wouldn't take a second look at them, that's why they feel so pressured to look beautiful so boys will like them and spend their time wondering if their not going to like them when they could be focusing more on their education. Yes, it sounds corny, but its the truth.

Genuine boys will see through your looks and notice that you are beautiful in the inside, and admire your kindness, not your looks or your bra size.

Get out there, enjoy yourself and let yourself go! Be confident. Wear what YOU want, not what people tell you to wear. Don't let them bring you down, YOU are YOU, don't change for anyone, be proud in your own skin, you have confidence, you are naturally beautiful.

HOW TO GET YOUR DREAM

If you work hard enough, you can achieve what you want to.

Follow these steps to achieve your goals:

1. Lie down, closing your eyes, and try and see yourself getting what you want. For example, if it's that you want to be more clever, see yourself getting A+ grade reports and passing your GCSE'S with flying colours etc.

2. After about 5 minutes, open your eyes and write down a list of how you can achieve your goal(s). Maybe you want more money, write down some ways you can make money: babysitting, making & selling jewellery, paper round, selling old stuff etc.

3. Say to yourself 'I can achieve my goal, I just need to believe in myself.' Don't listen to others who say you can't do it. How do they know, can they see the future? Even if you fail and you give up hope, you won't get success overnight, it takes time but eventually you'll get there. Go step-by-step, and continue with your hard work.

SUCCESS COMES TO THOSE WHO WORK FOR IT.

So what if some people were born to rich families and have all the money without even doing anything. They DID work for it. All those winning athletes, they WORKED hard for it, training continuously. Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the best football players in the world, was said by his coach to be the last one to leave the pitch, because he had that determination, belief in himself and going to give his 100%.

Doctors: did well in their studies in school, worked hard, got those A grades and now drive expensive Mercedes Benz & live in big houses, this could be YOU if you work hard for it.

QUITTERS NEVER WIN, WINNERS NEVER QUIT.

Winners are always optimistic, have positive thinking. Don't say "I'll never have a worldwide successful clothing company".
No, successful people say "Yes, I will have a worldwide successful clothing company. I will be on the top. I will work hard for it, give it my all. Never give up."

When you think negatively about your goal(s), this decreases your motivation levels, making you work LESS hard for it and not achieving it. Your body just goes in "can't be bothered" mode, so you don't push hard enough for it, and therefore won't achieve your goals. Think about it. Has any successful person said 'You know what, I won't do it. I'm never going to be good at it anyway.' No, they said the opposite, meaning they DID achieve it.

You are willing to try, willing to learn.

All you girls out there that have low self esteem, doubt yourself? Don't =) You are more than how you look. Love yourself. If you can't even do that, who will =) We are all beautiful.

You guys are all so freaking beautiful. I love you all so much guys. Keep smiling and never let anybody put you down. Never let anybody take that beautiful smile off your face.

Nobody can decide if you are beautiful.
You do.
You are.

WHEN A GIRL IS CONFIDENT, THEIR BEAUTY SHINES.

You may be pretty, but if you are not confident, there is no beauty.

BEAUTY IS NOT ABOUT LOOKS, BUT HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT YOURSELF, YOUR CONFIDENCE & BELIEF, YOUR DETERMINATION & FRIENDLINESS.

Beach I'm Coming...
Thursday, 6 August 2009 // 01:14
I am now in the car travelling to the beach :D
So excited haven't been for ages.
I remembered all the essentials: gadgets, hair kits, beach bag, kindle etc.
I'm thinking of starting a business. But I don't know what kind it shall be.
Tried the hair bows, not working out. I have some newly packaged hair wefts I can sell?
I was thinking of a skin care range. I'll use natural products, fruits, no chemicals, they smell beautiful.
Guess what? Strawberries also helps whiten teeth too! Strawberries are a miracle. Wonder what they also do, shoot your enemies?
Lol just kidding.
I've made strawberry sugar exfoliants, they smell lush. I can make tanning lotion with bronzer to make it look real.
I just need to buy containers or bottles so I can put them in.
This is going to be very exciting =]
You heard it here first, my own skincare range! In fact, to celebrate, I'll give a 40% discount! :)
I mean when we go through teenage years, we will have pimples outbreaking and ruining our youthful, baby-smooth face and body, so using natural ingredients which are chemical free will leave our skin fresh and younger-looking, like we're 1 years old again! Just bring out the nappies.
How about a t-shirt range aswell? I could do off the shoulder tops, hmm, it's harder than the skincare though.

Watch this video for tips on finding happiness and confidence:

School in a month! :(
Noo. This is ruining my mood >.<
Exams! Exams! Exams!
The best way to deal with the pressure and stress and fear of failure is:
♥ The other day I was feeling so stressed out so I listened to some relaxation music on youtube (e.g. beach waves, rain & thunder, nature etc.) and I found it to be really helping.

Then I ran a warm bath and poured one cup of milk into it (you can get a few strawberries, put them in a blender with milk and that will give you strawberry milk if you want it to smell nice and be better) and brought my laptop into the room so when I was in the bath I was listening to the relaxation music and reading a good book. When I got out after an hour or so I felt so refreshed and calm :D

I'm thinking of starting meditation, apparently its a great stress breaker. There should be some beginner meditation videos on youtube or you can just go on eHow and search for meditation tips.

Also, when revising you probably get bored and tired easily, my best revision tips is find out what type of learner you are. For example, I am an auditory learner (I learn by hearing/listening) so I recorded myself (Audacity is good) reading out my notes and listened back to them, it really helped. [Add some sound effects to make it even more fun!] Also, listen to some study music to help you cram in information and go to a more relaxed, composed mood. Type in 'Study music' on the youtube search, they have a variety :)

If you are not an auditory learner, but you learn from doing something, i.e. acting it out, practicals, doing something with your hands etc. you could act it out in a play or something.

If you are a visual learner, you can revise by reading or watching videos, writing your notes out, highlighting the most important parts.

One of my best revision tips: Record the most important notes or things you can't quite understand and have it playing softly in the background while you sleep. It's a great method!

I know it's a bit too early to revise, but it's best to get prepared early, so when you go back in September you won't be thrown with nasty surprises and you'll be ready!

Don't forget to have breaks after each section. If you still don't seem amused, try and reward yourself with treats after revising one topic. So for example, After this Algebra topic I am going to eat biscuits/play on the wii/go shopping/call friends etc. Something that makes you happy! This way you'll be more motivated to do your revision, it works.

I know maths is probably the most common subject that people struggle with/don't understand. I found this great site that is really good for maths:
http://www.glad2teach.co.uk >> it'll make you a math genius, trust!

Another good revision site is BBC Bitesize.

Read textbooks, buy the ones with practice papers. I have CGP KS3 Revision & Practice, at the end of each section it has a test to test how well you revised, it's really good.

Don't just read, do mindmaps, colourful notes etc.!

Anyway we've arrived at the beach now, my brothers are bringing out the beach ball from the boot and their all running to the sea like little looneys. :P

See you and check back tomorrow for more tips!

Love you readers xox

Sun is in the sky oh why oh why would I want to be anywhere else?
Wednesday, 5 August 2009 // 01:19
Well it is now morning, I am sipping from my cappuccino and typing this. Mmm, nice & frothy. I wonder if Starbucks do a delivery service to your home? I would love that. I'm feeling too comfy in my bed to get up and go down to Starbucks anyway. The craving is getting too much.
My brothers friends kept me up until 5 am, yes, my eyes are fine now.

Hmm...what to write.

It's summer now! Although it's been raining this week, the sun this morning is ok. One of my favourite things in life is to wake up to the intense sunlight slanting in through my bedroom window. As I walk around, parks will be filled with smoke in the air as people have portable bbq's with their friends, on the beach in barefoot there will be boys ogling at girls in their bikinis, eagerly trying to get a tan and attempting to find a summer romance. I just lay back, minding my own business, enjoying the heat rising to my skin, the warm summer glow that spreads across the horizon.
And of course, I do love the summer style!

Red heart sunglasses are so in right now! And I'm loving the aviators.

My fave items for this summer are denim shorts, jeggings (combination of leggings and jeans, new hot fashion trend!), off-shoulder tops and wavy hair.

Although I am addicted to my GHD'S (like, literally addicted!) they must go unfortunately and I must unveil my curling tongs. As my hair is afro I have to relax my hair first, put it in braids, leave it in for about an hour and then take them, out then put leaving mousse or conditioner in it so it stays. Add a bit of hairspray for the glossy finish, smooth feel and so it can stay! Wavy locks are the new straight.

What I love about summer is obviously the sun, no school, being able to wear light clothes and its actually acceptable, bbq's, garden swimming parties, water fights (that should have been top of the list!) and just having a damn good time without worrying about the stress of school wehn we go back in September.

Ooh! Guess what. I am loving hair bows, they are very cute and a great detail to summer hair, it's just that, I bought some ribbons from the shop the other day and despite watching numerous videos, trying every method and going to every site about making hair bows, they still turned out..let's say..not what I hoped for. *sigh* Lady Gaga however has spread a new fashion heatwave of her unique and indivual style by wearing hair bows made out of..hair! It's the hottest hair trend right now.

I turn the pages of my magazines, many fashion trends and beauty tips laying across every page. I made a promise to myself that I must keep a strict regime of washing my face every morning, although even making the promise yesterday I forgot to do it this morning. And my Body Shop natural cleanser has run out. My face is attacked with heat rashes and a lot of spots, I scream in anger as I study them carefully in my reflection in the mirror.

Most girls just slap a load of foundation to cover their spots, but it just increases more since their foundation is so oily it blocks the pores and therefore forms new spots. It's like a fight between the foundation and the wearer! For my beauty in summer I am not really bothered about spending up to an hour just making sure I look nice.

My faves are the Rimmel London Vinyl Carat 1000 lipgloss, it's so good. I have used many lipglosses but this by far is the best than the others I have used and tried. Since my lips are dark, not many ligplosses show on my lips, they just look like vaseline. This one is very vibrant and when the sun comes out my lips glisten like diamonds are layered on every centre of my shiny lips.

I put a little bit of mascara aswell. And sometimes maybe some foundation but not too much.

To make your cheeks look fuller here's a tip for blusher, if you have the dark skin tone (black/african american) get some dark red lipstick and put a bit on your cheeks making a circle shape, then with a lighter shade of lipstick (rosy pink, light pink) put it on top of the dark red lipstick and rub them in together until it beldns into your skin. It looks awesome!

For a olive skin tone (mariah carey)/ Asian/ Caucasian put on some rosy pink or light pink lipstick and rub it in to your skin. Most days I can't be bothered to put foundation or sometimes even mascara, so I just wear the lipgloss.

I found a weird and strange tip! Apparently rubbing a strawberry on a spot makes your skin a brighter complexion because the naturally occurring alpha-hydroxy acids in strawberries get rid of dead skins cells and help to clear up any blemishes.

Who knew that the deliciously-tasting strawberries that are also healthy for your body and immune system also help your skin aswell! If you try this method, wash your face or use your normal cleanser to get rid of any makeup or dirt and then cut one fresh strawberry in half and rub the cut sides on your face. Wait a few minutes, then rinse your face with water and pat dry with a towel! Its's rumoured to be a miracle exfoliator. [Be careful if your skin is ultra-sensitive though and don't do this trick if you are allergic to strawberries in any way] (:

As I surf the web if you are one who likes internet shopping ASOS.com and forever21.com are my number one sites for this summer! Check out the swimwear at ASOS.com . ♥♥ I have fallen in love. And if your one who's cleavage is not very big, you can boost it up with some of their padded bikinis.

As famously seen on Lady Gaga, her extraordinary but impudent attitude shows any girl can wear this chic tankini:

If you are one though for the Kate Moss Look, and have that admiring confidence, then you can wear this modern but super cute high waisted skirted bikini!

This halter bikini however is simple but elegant, this will give you languid total assurance and grace that this is certainly a mouth-dropper! Make a statement at the beach or at swimming pool parties, be the one envied by the other girls. If you have an athletic structure, this is great for creating the illusion of curves, or if you have little curves, this is still perfect!

(Above swimwear available at ASOS.com)

On YouTube there is a user called bubzbeauty, I find her vids very inspirational and she has some great hair and beauty tips!

Remember CONFIDENCE is the best feature anyone can ever have. You could have all the latest clothes or beauty products before their even out in stores yet, but you NEED confidence! It brings out your inner beauty and confidence brings happiness. If you have low self-esteem instead of looking at yourself in the mirror and pointing out your bad points note your good points and it will feel amazing! Look in the mirror and go 'Hey beautiful' it might sound vain, but that's probably the best tip for a quick and easy confidence boost! Surround yourselves with the people and things that make you happy.

For cute and stylish japanese curls to look super great check out her video below:

Competition, free giveaway! Win free tanning lotion with bronzer to give you an absolutely enviable tan that makes you look beautiful! All you have to do is comment on this post with your views on the article, with your name and email, and I will draw the lucky name out of a hat, and will contact you to your email if you have won! Easy!

Have a great day, enjoy the sun, be safe, smile and check back tomorrow!

P.S Don't forget your sunscreen lotion or spray, SPF 15 + or higher, nothing is worse than an aching sun burn that stops you from having fun! Buy mini pocket ones that are easy to put in your bag, purse, pocket etc. , bring a hat for very hot days and don't stay in the sun for too long! Remember to wear sunglasses that look stylish and protect your eyes from the sun's rays!

xoxo

My First Post
Tuesday, 4 August 2009 // 13:03
Well, hello!
This is my first post, I was just bored so thought I might start a blog about my life and thoughts :)
I've got so many things to say.
Yeah I know your probably thinking 'not another teen blog..' I'm sorry if you think like that this is just to amuse my bored mind.
Your probably expecting to hear a bit about myself..
Well I'm named Renee. I'm your average student, dedicated to my studies, hard working but also applies to many teen girl aspects like the love of fashion, music, studying, reading etc.
I won't write too much now as if I write about myself it will go on forever!
I was born in Jamaica but I currently reside in the UK, although I aspire to live in New Zealand, it is a beautiful place. My family and friends help keep me on the ground.
My mum just opened the door saying I have to log off. In my surroundings I am in the dark typing on my laptop while the shoutings of my brother and his friends are piercing the atmosphere. It's his birthday you see, and as boys are genetically restless and energetic, there seems to be a lot of jumping around, screamings at the game console and boom box rap music being played loudly and deafingly from their stereo. I will survive...trust me.

Well..before my mum comes back again, I won't take the risky chance of being told to turn the computer off again, so see you tomorrow.
